Your privacy

iPaidThis is built on a simple promise: we publish prices, not people. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to hide behind legal language.

What we collect

• The bill you share. When you submit a price, we collect the procedure, the year, the state, the provider type, the amount paid, and any note you add. We do not ask for your name or address, and we never publish anything that identifies you. Prices are shown in aggregate alongside everyone else's.
• Your email, only if you give it. The email field is optional. If you enter it and tick a box, we use it only for what you asked for: price alerts for your area, and, if you separately opt in, the occasional relevant offer based on the category of what you told us you bought (for example vet or dental deals). Your email is never displayed on the site and never sold, and you can unsubscribe or withdraw either consent at any time.
• The category you shared, if you opt in to offers. Offers are chosen using only the type of purchase you submitted, such as vets, dentistry or building work. We do not use sensitive information, we do not build detailed profiles of you, and we never pass your identity to an advertiser. It is a simple, opt-in match between what you buy and offers that might genuinely help.
• Basic technical data. Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard request information (such as your browser type and country) to keep the site running and secure. We do not run advertising trackers.

Why we are allowed to

For the anonymous price data, our lawful basis is legitimate interest: making opaque prices transparent, in a form that does not identify anyone. For your email, both for price alerts and for relevant offers, our lawful basis is your consent, given separately for each by ticking the relevant box. You can withdraw either consent at any time, and doing so has no effect on the prices you have already shared.

Where it is stored

Submissions and any opted-in emails are stored securely with Cloudflare. Prices you submit become part of the published dataset in anonymous form. If you gave an email, we keep it until you ask us to remove it or you unsubscribe.

Who we share it with

Nobody, in the sense that matters. We never sell your data. Sponsors and advertisers never see your email or any personal detail. Journalists and researchers who use our figures only ever get the anonymous, aggregated prices.

Your rights

• Ask what we hold about you, and get a copy.
• Ask us to correct or delete it, including any bill you submitted.
• Withdraw your email consent at any time.
• Complain to the relevant US state authority if you think we have got it wrong.

To do any of these, use our contact form and we will sort it, usually within a few days.

Cookies

We keep cookies to a minimum. During the private preview there is a single cookie that remembers your access so you are not asked for the link every time. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
